András Petőcz

After graduating from Budapest University, András worked as an editor of the journal Jelenlét (Presence), joined avant-garde circles of the democratic opposition in the 1980s, cooperated with international artisting groups and dealt with visual and acoustic poetry. In 1990 his poem Európa metaforája (The Metaphor of Europe) was published, which was awarded with the Robert Graves Prize as a symbol of the turning point and the most beautiful poem of the year. The poertry has been published in individual volumes as well as in about 25 anthologies.
