About

Born in Azerbaijan, Ilkin Huseynov works with the medium of photography to negotiate questions of social justice in contemporary Baku, the biggest city of the Caucasus region. With collages, he mediates the idiosyncratic aesthetics of this massive, post-Soviet city. The whole of Baku seems like one big construction site, at the same time, posters promise a „perfect city of the future“, says the artist. During his AIR-residency, Ilkin Huseynov has produced photographs of Krems and the Danube region and will present them together with the series from his hometown at FINE ART Galerie Traismauer.
