Èv van Hettmer
Èv is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, where she studied with Ashley Hans Scheirl and Monica Bonvicini. She attended the Hamburg University of Fine Arts (HFBK) as a scholarship recipient of the Art School Alliance international exchange program and studied in the studios of Anselm Reyle, Jutta Koether, Simon Denny and Adam Broomberg & Oliver Chanarin.
She works in the field of a wild, expressive painting that grows installatively into the space. As a feminist artist, she focuses on themes such as taboo, risk, female sexuality, authenticity, humor, and playfulness; she asks questions of herself as an individual, but also reflects on the possibilities of current painting.
Èv van Hettmer will be represented in the fall of 2023 in the exhibition "Seven Deadly Sins - Current Comments" at Kunsthalle Krems.
