Ajit Chauhan
American artist Ajit Chauhan, who will be an AIR – ARTIST IN RESIDENCE Niederösterreich guest in November and December, takes a semiotically subversive approach in his art. He seeks to undermine habitual visual and semiotic modes of perception; random occurrences as well as the characteristic energies of things or materials play an important role. Chauhan focuses mainly on a poetic-conceptual dimension than an analytical or systemic one; his interests lie in “the intervention that reveals the unexpected poetry that permeates everyday life.”
