Šarūnas Nakas

Šarūnas comes as a guest from our exchange partner DAR (Druskininkai Artist Residence) in Lithuania. The composer, essayist, curator, filmmaker and broadcaster studied first at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and then in Poland with Witold Lutoslawski, among others. Šarūnas was already an artist in residence in Krems in 2016. During his one-month stay, he will devote himself to the composition of a new work for acoustic and electronic instruments with the working title "Telos" (Greek for goal, end purpose), based on his experiments with simultaneous sound-space strategy.
