Ayesha Zulfiqar

Pakistani artist Ayesha Zulfiqar, who is a guest of AIR – ARTIST IN RESIDENCE Lower Austria from February to April 2024, works with a variety of media, including installation, drawing, printmaking and video. In her works, Zulfiqar critically examines urbanism, i.e. the mechanisms of constructing history and memory against the backdrop of intensive urban change. Recently, however, the artist has also been working again with emphatically small forms that, according to the artist, "fit in one hand". Zulfiqar is also planning to develop a series of small ceramic objects for the period of her residency from a similarly intimate and tactile perspective.
