Karina Mendreczky und Katalin Kortmann-Járay

The Hungarian artists Karina Mendreczky and Katalin Kortmann-Járay, who are guests at AIR in March, take a fundamentally perceptually reflective approach in their joint works. In objects and installations, they explore the interfaces of individual and collective experience and memory. The connection with places, but also the utopian and fictional, play a central role. The motif of the child or childhood is a recurring figure, especially in Kortmann-Járay's work, and functions as a multi-layered metaphor.
