Studios abroad for Lower Austrian artists in 2019

AIR - ARTIST IN RESIDENCE Lower Austria announces its call for proposals for the 2019 scholarships abroad for Lower Austrian artists.


ATTENTION: NEW CLOSING DATE September 17th, 2018

BUDAPEST (Hungary), CHICAGO (USA), MELBOURNE (Australia), NIDA (Lithuania), ÖRNSKÖLDSVIK (Sweden), WESTPORT (Ireland) and WOODSIDE (California, USA) are the 2019 locations where studio apartments are being made available to Lower Austrian artists.


Applications are possible until September 17th, 2018.
Applicants are subsequently informed via e-mail about the jury's decision.

 

Terms and conditions for application:

  • You must work and / or have your residence in Lower Austria. Or else you must have been born there or have an exceptional connection to the province of Lower Austria.
  • One of the basic requirements for application is that you have completed discipline-specific artistic education (higher education). Should you not have an academic degree in the field, you will have to demonstrate your abilities with a relevant artistic career that showcases these. Whatever the case, you must prove regular artistic activity in the areas that underlie the scholarship program.
  • You must have specific work or a project in mind that takes into consideration the hosting institutions’ respective focal points.

  • € 800,- travel and subsistence allowance provided by the province of Lower Austria
  • € 500,- material costs and subsistence allowance provided by Budapest Galéria


Artist in residence stay from June 1st to July 31st, 2019 in Chicago
, USA, School of the Art Institute Chicago, www.saic.edu

  • Main focus: the fine arts
  • Housing
  • Studio if required
  • Access to the “School of the Art Institute Chicago” University’s facilities
  • Personal on-site support
  • € 3.600,- travel and subsistence allowance provided by the province of Lower Austria

 

Artist in Residence residency stay from July 29th to September 22nd, 2019 in Melbourne, Australia, RMIT SITUATE, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, School of Art, www.rmit.edu.au

  • Main focus: the fine arts, contemporary artistic practices and disciplines
  • Housing
  • Studio
  • Free access to the “RMIT School of Art” University’s facilities
  • Lectures, discussions and artist talks are welcomed
  • Exhibition: September 13th - October 10th, 2019
  • Personal on-site support
  • € 2.600,- travel and subsistence allowance provided by the province of Lower Austria
  • Weekly $ 350,- (approx. € 240,-) subsistence allowance provided by RMIT University

Artist in residence stay in Örnsköldsvik (Sweden) in June 2019

  • € 1.900,- travel and subsistence allowance provided by the province of Lower Austria


Artist in Residence stay from May 15th - June 12th, 2019 in Woodside, California, USA

  • Housing

  • Personal on-site support
  • Transfer from and to the airport
  • Meals are provided
  • € 1.800,- material costs and travel allowance provided by the province of Lower Austria
